Welcome to Braving Wellness

To me, braving wellness means to look inward and challenge patterns that no longer serve you. As an athlete my entire life, I developed a pattern of ignoring signals from my body. No matter how "good" of a workout I got, I was often left with new aches and pains and feeling like my performance was never good enough. It wasn't until 2020 that I started to explore a more sustainable, non-judgemental and embodied approach to fitness. I started to explore movement as a modality for healing by practicing attunement to my body's needs. I realized that my practice in staying present with my thoughts, feelings and sensations through movement was parallel to my work as a mental health therapist. Braving Wellness was established in 2023 so that I could combine my skills as both therapist and fitness trainer.

Additionally, I became a pregnant and postpartum athleticism coach as I experienced first hand the challenges of navigating the pregnancy and postpartum journey (first as the non-birth partner). I believe becoming a parent is one of life’s most transformational experiences. Big life events, even "happy" ones often trigger intense emotions and re-open emotional wounds. I am passionate about providing a space for this population to express and release emotions, and reconnect with their body.
